Challenge

NTT Communications (NTT Com) established the Japanese-language version of jp.uefa.com, the UEFA portal site, in February 2003 to meet the ever-growing demands of Japan's enthusiastic fans of European soccer, in which Japanese players are a growing presence.

Verio inc., wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Com, has hosted the uefa.com site since 2001. For uefa.com, Verio distributed a video feed of the UEFA Champions League matches, establishing a stable network that supports the unprecedented traffic.

This portal site already has up to 7 million page impression on match days. To support the anticipated rapid growth in demand for broadband applications, stable, dependable hosting services and a reliable IP backbone are essential.
